Chilled Water

Closed Cooling Systems- Chillers

A chiller is a machine that removes heat from a liquid via a vapor-compression or absorption refrigeration cycle. This liquid can then be circulated through a heat exchanger to cool equipment, or another process stream (such as air or process water).

Unlike open re-circulating cooling systems, the makeup usage in closed loop systems is usually minimal since the average loss in re-circulating water is less than 1 %. Since the dissolved solids in the water are not concentrated by evaporation, deposition and scale are usually not the main problem, the main problem in closed loop systems are corrosion and microbiological fouling.

GEX Chemical Series

GEX Chemicals has developed a series for each system to deal with the treatment requirements

GEX 500 Series

Corrosion Inhibitors

GEX Chemical department has a wide range of corrosion inhibitors which are designed to suit various types of closed water systems. Since closed water systems come in a variety of sizes and applications we strive to provide the most comprehensive range of corrosion inhibitors possible, from multifunctional borate nitrate based products, to control corrosion in closed cooling systems, to non-toxic corrosion inhibitors for use in small multi metal heating systems, with the blend of having Nitrites, Molybdate and silicate in multifunctional chemicals, every blend has the specialty to treat several types of problems in such systems.

GEX 400 Series

Non- Oxidizing Biocides

As we mentioned before in the cooling tower sector that GEX has a wide range of Non-Oxidizing biocides which can be applicable to fit in open and closed cooling systems, as we need a non foaming, non-oxidizing biocide in chilled water GEX has the best options to treat chilled water against microbiological growth problems which might occur during the normal operation.
